Ranch life happens on a seasonal rather than monthly or daily basis. We work until the job is done, and we are tasked based on weather instead of time. If the hay is ready to cut, we cut it. If the calves are born in the middle of the night, that is when we are available to assist.  This has its advantages as well as its challenges.  As long as we can remember that "life doesn't get any better than this" we can persevere through the next task.
